CORE JOB SUMMARY The Manager, HR Operations & Initiatives – UHealth oversees the execution of the overall HR strategy for UHealth/MSOM through project management, performance improvement initiatives, and strategic communication. This role will enable efficient and effective HR operations by planning, implementing, and tracking a variety of projects and initiatives to ensure their successful development, completion, and sustainability. This role will also be responsible for evaluating current processes and making recommendations for improvement, while ensuring a solid communication strategy to keep all stakeholders involved and informed.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Works with various HR teams (Client Services, Talent Acquisition, Support Services, Total Rewards, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and define the scope of projects/initiatives designed to improve HR effectiveness and efficiency at UHealth/MSOM. Discusses the objectives and measures upon which projects/initiatives will be evaluated at completion, and determines the resources required for execution. Establishes and documents comprehensive plans and timelines, which identify and sequence the activities needed to successfully complete projects/initiatives. Monitors the progress of projects/initiatives and adjusts scope/strategy/timeline as needed to adapt to changes and ensure successful completion. Consults with the appropriate stakeholders on the selection of employees to assist with projects/initiatives, provides training and orientation, and assigns tasks as appropriate. Reviews the quality of work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that work produced meets project standards. Creates a broad communication strategy to share changes occurring within or affecting HR, and ensures stakeholders are aware of proposed and current projects/initiatives so there is an opportunity for input. Assesses standard operating procedures within HR, makes recommendations for process improvement, and drives such efforts. Coordinates execution of special projects, including but not limited to recruitment events, employee engagement and recognition activities, learning and development opportunities for HR staff, and engagement surveys. Prepares presentations on completed projects/initiatives and presents status reports to stakeholders.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
Certification and Licensing:
Not Applicable
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Knowledge of business and management principles.
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
