Jobe Materials, L.P. ( Jobe ) is a ready-mix concrete, asphalt, and construction aggregates supplier serving El Paso, Las Cruces, Southern New Mexico, and West Texas. The company is currently seeking a Director of Safety and Risk Management to join its team.Responsibilities:Leading and developing a team of employees with the company's Safety DepartmentOverseeing and updating the company's safety programs and safety goals. This includes implementing new and existing safety polices and protocol.Representing the company in front of OSHA and MSHA representatives during any inspections and/or investigationsConducting audits and inspections of company facilities to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.Conducting regular risk assessments across all operations, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing mitigation plans to minimize exposure. Collaborating with other departments to implement best practices for risk reduction.Researching, evaluating and recommending changes to operations to improve the company's safety performanceTraining company employees on safety policies and regulations.Regularly reporting to company management regarding the company's safety performanceDeveloping proactive processes, procedures, systems, and metrics to drive continuous improvement towards reducing or limiting potential hazards at company facilities.In conjunction with in-house counsel, lead the design and administration of the company's insurance programs, including property, liability, workers' compensation, and other relevant coverages. Manage claims processes and ensure proper coordination with external legal teams.Collaborating with in-house counsel on potential litigation and liability issues, and advising company management on risk exposure and mitigation strategies.Overseeing risk management budgets, including insurance premiums, claims reserves, and risk mitigation project funding.Overseeing insurance policy renewals, including the evaluation and implementation of strategic captive programs.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Risk Management or a related field. Associates in Risk Management (ARM) designation is preferred.At least eight years of experience in safety, risk management, insurance, claims, and/or litigation management.At least four years of experience in a leadership or management rolePrior experience in the construction industry is preferred.Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation is preferred.Knowledge of OSHA regulations, inspections and investigations. Preferred to have OSHA Train the Trainer certification.Knowledge of MSHA regulations, inspections and investigations is preferred.Bilingual skills are preferred.Jobe provides competitive healthcare and 401(k) benefits for employees that elect to enroll or participate.
