BluePearl Pet Hospital in Sarasota, FL is proud to offer our Emergency Veterinarian mentorship training program, EmERge. Our EmERge program provides the skills and confidence you need to be a successful Emergency Veterinarian at one of our state-of-the-art hospitals through one-on-one peer guided mentorship.

The BluePearl EmERge program is designed to provide veterinary school graduates the necessary training to become successful Emergency Veterinarians. You are hired as a full-time associate from day one, and we will prepare you for your first solo emergency shift at one of our BluePearl hospitals. The program combines lectures, interactive seminars, labs, mentoring, and hands-on practice experience. Not only will you receive valuable training from experienced Veterinarians, but you will also be paid a salary from the first day of your course.
Who is it for?
A graduate of an accredited veterinary school.
Individual with a sincere interest in becoming an Emergency Veterinarian.
A current Veterinarian looking for a career change.
This program does not replace or substitute an internship which is required for application to a residency.
Program Structure:
EmERge is a one-year training program divided into three segments. Your salary will be tiered and increase as you complete each segment of the program. The total commitment is two years, including the initial year of training.
16 weeks of initial training/boot camp beginning in January and June. The first four of these weeks will be spent offsite (lodging & airfare are provided).
16 weeks of immersive training, guided by an experienced Veterinarian.
20 weeks of experiential training.

Who we are at BluePearl Sarasota, FL – anything you’d like to add or change?
Our emergency service has highly qualified, dedicated technicians, including two veterinary technician specialists (VTS) in Emergency and Critical Care.
Our board-certified and residency-trained clinicians specialize in, emergency & critical care, internal medicine, ophthalmology, surgery, radiology, and cardiology.
On-site diagnostic capabilities include a CT scanner, flexible and rigid endoscopes, ventilator, ultrasound, high flow oxygen unit and oxygen cages, ophthalmic microscope, digital radiography, Force Triad LigaSure, and a chemotherapy hood.
Our own blood bank with centrifuge and plasma freezer, and we allow for public donors. Due to BluePearl’s high standard and medical excellence, BluePearl’s blood bank process has been accepted as the standard procedure to be followed by all blood banks.
