$21.64 - $26.44/hourResponsibilities:Management of State-licensed school-age childcare program that operates before school and after school, and in the summer; approximately 80-100 children attending dailyStaff supervision and developmentProgram developmentPlanning and schedulingProgram administrationMonitoring staff compliance with training requirements, background checks, etc.Facility managementSafety and securityClub climate and cultureSupervision of youthCommunication with parents/guardiansMembership growthSite budget monitoring (collecting Childcare payments, controlling expenses, monitoring staff hours, etc.)Program evaluationData management (attendance, reports, grant requirements, etc.)Community relationsPartnership development (schools, program providers, community agencies, etc.)Qualifications:Education requirements:The Childcare Director for a RI State-licensed School-Age Childcare program must meet the requirements needed to be designated as the School-Age Site Coordinator on the state-issued Childcare License for the site.Be at least 21 years of age; andMeet the education requirements detailed in
ONE
of the four options below:Option 1: The individual holds an Associate's degree or sixty (60) college credit hours, with eighteen (18) of them in a field related to Education, Child Development, Human Services or Recreation from an approved and accredited institution of higher education, and has two (2) years supervised teaching experience in a licensed/approved Early Childhood Program (student teaching may fulfill this requirement).Option 2: The individual holds an Associate's degree in a field related to Education, Child Development, Human Services or Recreation from an accredited or approved institution of higher education, and has one (1) year supervised teaching experience in a licensed/approved Early Childhood Program (student teaching may fulfill this requirement).Option 3: The individual holds a Bachelor's degree or higher in a field related to Education, Child Development, Human Services or Recreation from an accredited or approved institution of higher education and has three (3) months supervised teaching experience in a licensed/approved Early Childhood Program (student teaching may fulfill this requirement).Option 4: The individual holds a master's degree in a field related to Education, Child Development, Human Services or Recreation from an accredited or approved institution of higher education.Additional Qualifications:Required: 2 or more years of work experience in youth development, education, or related services, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role;Required: strong verbal and written communication skills;Required: intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite, membership database, electronic communicationsRequired: must have or obtain a RI Chauffeur's License within first 90 days of employmentRequired: must be or become certified in First Aid and CPRPreferred: 2 or more years of work experience in a Boys & Girls Club, including 1 year in a supervisory or management role;Preferred: previous Youth Development experience in a diverse urban community;Preferred: previous work experience with state-licensed childcare programsPreferred: previous experience with BrightStars rating systemPreferred: fluency in speaking and writing SpanishEmployee Benefits
