DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

The position is located at our downtown Pittsburgh office. This is a hybrid role.
This position will not begin until January 2025
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Director of Marketing and Communications, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing, communications, and public relations strategies. Your work will play a critical role in shaping our brand and ensuring consistent messaging across various platforms. Collaborating with internal teams, you'll support our outreach, marketing, and engagement efforts.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS
In this role, no two days are the same. You might start your morning reviewing key performance metrics with your team and aligning them with organizational goals. By mid-morning, you could be meeting with media outlets to discuss upcoming initiatives, followed by collaborating with internal teams to fine-tune campaign strategies. The afternoon could involve overseeing content creation for social media or drafting a press release. As the day wraps up, you'll check in with your team to ensure projects are on track, and you might brainstorm ideas for upcoming community events or fundraising initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Develop and execute marketing, communications, and public relations strategiesOversee brand management to ensure consistency across all platformsLead digital marketing efforts including website content, social media, email campaigns, and advertisingBuild and maintain relationships with media and act as a spokespersonSupport internal communications to enhance employee engagementCollaborate with the Development team to create materials for fundraising and community engagement eventsLead a team of marketing and communications professionals, providing mentorship and fostering creativity
YOUR BACKGROUND
Bachelor's or master's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
Proven experience in marketing, communications, or public relations (minimum of 8 years)
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team and drive results
Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of health equity issues.
Exceptional writing and content creation skills for various platforms
Expertise in digital marketing strategies and media relations
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-departmentally, especially with Development and Fundraising teams

While women's health is a primary focus for the organization, reproductive health, breast & cervical cancer screening, & preventive health services are also offered to men, teens, members of the LGBTQ+ community, & anyone in need of care in a w lcoming, confidential setting. AH operates 9 medical offices in western PA that also address social determinants of health such as food insecurity, behavioral health, & care navigation; manages the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) program in 5 PA counties; promotes tobacco/vaping prevention & cessation; oversees breast & cervical cancer screening & treatment programs across PA; & empowers local communities to address nutritional, reproductive, & behavioral health; positive relationship building; & life skills through an array of clinical & education programs.
