CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: (1) Discrete Event Simulation modeling lead: Lead the planning, development, and execution of discrete event simulations to model complex systems and processes Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into simulation models Communicate findings and progress to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audience (2) Technical and design leadership of data science solutions: Participate in project discovery through requirements gathering, analysis, design documentation, and impact analysis for model design, including taking a leadership role in project analysis and requirements gathering where required Plan and organize tasks, report progress, and coordinate with other team members Review existing code base(s) and recommend improvements Utilize SQL for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to support simulation and analysis Apply object-oriented design principles to develop scalable and maintainable models (3) Facilitation of simulation models to production-ready state: Develop and implement strategies for moving simulation solutions to a production-ready state, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance Incorporate mature testing and simulation validation processes Collaborate with the AI Product Delivery team to integrate models into both transactional and analytical business applications where required (4) Mentoring & research: Mentor and guide junior-level data scientists and team members in best practices for simulation and data analysis Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, simulation techniques, and related technologies "Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in any one of the following: Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or any other applicable Engineering/Sciences degree KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: 5+ years IT or Analytics experience Proficient in software development and support methodologies Experience leading analytics initiatives or software projects from start to finish Basic understanding of essential business functions of an organization Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Preferred: Supply chain and operations knowledge TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required: Knowledge of and familiarity with software engineering models and toolsets (git, github, and Jira in particular) Familiarity with testing and performing quality checks on production-level code Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills. Self-starter who takes initiative to learn and research new concepts, ideas, and technologies quickly.
