Summary of Job Duties:
The Clinical Services Manager (CSM) is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily operations of the designated unit, including patient care and unit business processes.
The Cardiovascular/Medical Specialties (F8) unit is a 30-bed adult inpatient unit specializing in the care and treatment of patients belonging to the Cardiology, Cardiothoracic (CT) Surgery, and Vascular Surgery teams, as well as Medicine teams. Our inter-professional team works together to meet the needs of patients with heart and/or vascular conditions including patients recovering from open heart surgery transferred from the CVICU, lung surgery, angioplasty, pacemaker insertion, vascular surgery, aneurysm repair, amputations, heart attack, arrhythmias, heart failure, and wide variety of other conditions. Patients on telemetry are remotely monitored, and portable bedside monitors are available for patients requiring closer observation. F8 embraces the mission and values of the UAMS Integrated Clinical Enterprise philosophy of patient care delivery.
Qualifications:
Required
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
* Five (5) or more years of experience in the field of Nursing, with at least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
* Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
Preferred
* Master's degree in Nursing (MSN)
Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).

Responsibilities:
* Serves as a liaison with Director and Administration, exchanging information and identifying problems or needs related to clinical activity.
* Maintains awareness of clinic/unit status and potential problems by functioning as a working supervisor.
* Supervises and implements Quality Assurance studies, provides reports to appropriate personnel, analyzes and identifies critical factors of patient care to facilitate enhancement of the quality of patient care offered.
* Develops, interprets, and implements policies, guidelines, protocol, job descriptions, and performance appraisals annually.
* Coordinates scheduling of leave time. Submits documented plan for any physical plant renovation or repair as necessary.
* Participates on ad hoc committees, as required, to develop plans related to clinic/unit issues.
* Interviews, hires, and orients new employees; documents orientation of each new employee, coordinating with personnel and adhering to UAMS policy.
* Coordinates timely completion of personnel records, including employee promotions/transfers and new employee hiring.
* Participates as a team member, supporting clinical and administrative peers in the performance of their duties.
* Other duties as assigned.
