Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Subject Matter Expert to work on an exciting proprietary product line onsite in McKinney, TX or El Segundo, CA.

Scope of Program: The proprietary product line solves problems to provide secure commercial off the shelf compute resources to our customers. We are broadly engaged across all aspects of secure mission processing delivering innovative solutions that span space, ground, airborne, and commercial customers. The proprietary product line is looking for a Principal Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Subject Matter Expert to aid in the expansion of our MBSE capabilities. You will provide technical expertise and guidance to a team of systems, software, and firmware engineers in the development of our MBSE approach to digital engineering. You will help develop product line models, as well as tailored solutions for multiple program specific instantiations of that model. An active secret security clearance is required prior to the first day.

What you will do:

Architect, design, develop, integrate, and test secure processing solutions

Implement MBSE artifacts and digital analysis tools

Implement current processes and methodologies being utilized on programs for the development of program level data threads and system models

Create system level requirements, architectures, security designs, and certification documents

Utilize MBSE to realize/describe/analyze complex systems in SysML

Promote, mature, and grow the application and use of MBSE for assigned design teams, programs and product lines

Perform system engineering analyses including trade studies, use case development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification

Support definition of operations concepts and procedure planning/ development, interfacing with personnel from other organizations

Ensure the integrity of all engineering products, drawings, plans and specifications, requirements allocation products, system architecture, design analyses, and interface descriptions

Create required project documentation in support of contract deliverables, including development plans, requirement and design specifications, and test documents

Must have the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams with other team members and customers

Qualifications you must have:

Typically requires 8 years of prior relevant experience

Advanced level MBSE skills and experience

Knowledge in developing architectures and design of complex systems

Supporting development projects from concept through implementation and integration

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

Active and transferable U.S. government DoD Secret Clearance is required prior to start date

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualification we prefer:

Experience implementing System Security requirements on DoD systems to meet U.S. Government compliance requirements

Cyber security knowledge including Risk Management Framework

First-hand experience in the development of embedded systems

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
