Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is looking to add a Principal or Sr Principal Requirements and Verification Systems Engineer to join our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. This position will be in our Systems Engineering organization.
Essential Functions:
• Supporting cross-IPT development of system and segment level requirements and use cases
• Implementing requirements verification methodology and traceability
• Supporting development of interface definitions and integration plans
• Conducting formal integration and support capabilities-based system level testing of fully integrated complex software and hardware subsystems
• Evaluating integration and test anomalies and assist disposition and correction of issues as found
• Performing requirements verification and selloff
• Providing support to flight test and fielded assets
This requisition may be filled at the Principal or Sr Principal level.

Basic Qualifications
• Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related systems engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related systems engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related systems engineering experience.
• Sr Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related systems engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related systems engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related systems engineering experience.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment, Action Oriented, Strong Attention to Detail, Communicates Effectively
• Familiarity with systems engineering development processes and activities (such as but not limited to requirements and verification development and interface control document development)
• Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
• Current PAR access to program
• Experience in Data as a Service (DaaS) activities
• Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.
• Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders.
• Experience in DOORS & Atlassian Tool Suite
Salary Range:
$107,300 - $160,900
Salary Range 2:
$133,000 - $199,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
