VCBO Architecture (www.vcbo.com) is seeking a SUSTAINABILITY COORDINATOR to join our Salt Lake City office.
General Duties:
As a LEED Sustainability Coordinator you will:
The Sustainability Coordinator supports project teams in creating sustainability goals, defining strategies to be explored, and ensuring building and system design alignment to achieve these goals. The person in this position will support projects pursuing LEED certification, projects meeting the State of Utah High-Performance Building Standard, and projects pursuing net zero energy or zero carbon status. The person in this position will also help support research, best practice implementation, and project performance tracking for the VCBO office in alignment with the Architecture 2030 Commitment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Architectural Studies, Environmental Design, or other architectural-related degree
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental DesignAccredited Professional with a New Building Design and Construction specialty credential, or achieve this credential within three months of being hired
Become WELL Accredited within two years of hire
Roles and responsibilities:
Track LEED credits, certification process, and consultant efforts across all projects registered under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system.
Support teams in drafting and tracking Owner Project Requirements and Basis of Design documentation, as well as verifying the implementation of sustainable strategy in construction documents and specifications.
Provide energy, daylight, and climate impact analyses for projects using the Cove Tool or similar software in conjunction with Sketchup and Revit.
Conduct material research support teams in selecting materials using the least harm as a guiding principle.
Coordinate project specifications with sustainability targets, material environmental impact requirements, and construction best practices.
Support teams in creating COMCheck reports for building envelope performance.
Track project performance and upload portfolio performance data to the Architecture 2030 DDX or Design Data Exchange.
Support the Green Team in implementing sustainability improvements within the office.
