The ideal candidate will be responsible for greeting and providing travel information to visitors, mapping out routes, and offering weather-related and travel and tourism information about Arkansas. Key responsibilities include staying informed about Arkansas history, geology, local events, and attractions to offer accurate and engaging information to visitors, communicating effectively with other departments within the agency to gather and disseminate needed information, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the reception area, and restocking display areas with brochures, maps, and other informational materials. Qualifications include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong knowledge of Arkansas geography, history, and local attractions, the ability to read and retain a variety of information to stay updated on relevant topics, basic computer skills for information retrieval and communication, and organizational skills to maintain a tidy and well-stocked reception area. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not required. This position could work a maximum of 1800 hours. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.FunctionsResearches various data storage and/or computer records to obtain information and compiles data for reports. Composes and types routine correspondence and form letters, maintains activity logs and/or financial ledgers, and submits reports to supervisor. Reviews documents including applications, forms, vouchers, records, and reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with laws and regulations, makes necessary corrections, and assigns file numbers. Provides information, assistance, and clarification to interested parties concerning agency/institution policies and procedures. Assists in developing or revising agency/institution policies, procedures, and directives based on research findings and compiles financial information used to formulate budget proposals and monitor expenditures.
