Major Duties (Job Description)
- You will provide shore Information Technology Engineering services, including site survey, requirements, design, development, implementation, testing and delivery of fully integrated, enhanced IT capabilities.
- You will serve as project lead; analyze customer needs and define requirements; develop project plans and develop acquisition documentation.
- You will evaluate emergent issues and identify cost-effective, timely, sustainable solutions.
- You will prepare and maintain technical and programmatic documents, establish, and maintain configuration control.
- You will engage in fact-finding and problem resolution to ensure quality products and services are delivered to our customers.
- You will develop quality data deliverables, field reports, program documents, cost estimates, plans and proposals that are critical to performance.
Qualification Summary
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-09-11 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following as a professional engineer or computer scientist: 1. Demonstrating knowledge of Navy ashore information technologies such as inside /outside plant networks, multi-media systems, electronic security systems and desktop automated information systems; and 2. Applying project management and systems engineering principles and practices to satisfy sponsor's cost, schedule, and technical requirements; and 3. Applying ashore installation processes to system design, site surveys, development, acquisition, documentation, scheduling, installations, system cut-over, System Operational Verification and Test (SOVT), and system turnover. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
