JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWillingness and ability to support sales teams in any vacancy of roles, or in the case of an underperforming sales team member (ie: administrative support, catering, etc.)Lead, direct and manage Regional ControllersOversee month-end close processes including balancing, timely upload of all month end reports, and reconciliation and accuracy of all ledgers and reports submittedAssists with establishing a training program and assists with the trainingEnsure accurate and timely monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and research on financial questions as appropriateDirect monthly forecasting and annual budget processReview policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with SOX compliance requirementsAdvise General Managers in controlling expenses and maintaining department checkbooksEnsure that property meets internal and external audit standards as outlined in the Internal Audit guidelines and other Corporate Office communicationsProviding direction and training to hotel operational team in areas related to financial reports, internal controls, standard operating procedures, expense controls, and payrollLead role in coordinating external auditsPerform other duties as assigned to meet business objectivesEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Hotel experience requiredMinimum 5 years financial management experienceMulti-property controller experience requiredBA or BS degree in accounting or finance requiredSupervision/Management of a teamKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and deep understanding of all aspects of hotel operations.Must be detail oriented, with strong self organization and communication skills.Promotes an atmosphere of teamwork with the ability to lead by example.Builds morale and spirit while instilling an industry leading guest service attitude in all associates.Strong customer service orientation and skills with exceptional attention to detail."Hands-on" leadership approach to management and team development.Must be able to prioritize Regional functions in order to meet all deadlines.Executes all performance management, oversee recruitment & retention programs to include bonus program & annual reviews.Well-versed in strategic planning and operational executionExcellent communicator and dynamic presenter.Ability to lead, motivate and direct with clear communication.Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting requiredAbility to communicate statistical and financial data at the executive and entry levelAbility to thoroughly understand and analyze financial statements and cash flowsMeet all deadlines as requiredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to produce results with minimal supervision in a fast paced environmentStrong organizational, problem solving, analytical, and general ledger reconciliation skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracyStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized general ledger systemsKnowledge of PMS and POS systems strongly preferred
