DESCRIPTION
Seeking an experienced Lab Automation professional to join the eMolecules team in Newark, Delaware! The
Lab Automation Research Associate
role is responsible for sample order fulfillment for our clients. This is a hands-on role that requires a highly motivated and technically skilled professional with compound management expertise and respect within the industry, able to work in a high demand environment.Job Responsibilities:Perform duties in all areas of a complex high throughput compound management operation safely and with the highest level of quality
May include receiving, weighing, dissolving, sampling, storing and plating compounds in a variety of solvents using both manual and automated techniques according to SOPs and best practice
Perform data handling, inventory tracking, and accurate record keepingTroubleshooting of robotic equipment, performing scheduled precision and accuracy measurements of all Compound Management instruments and providing maintenance of all systemsDemonstrates proficiency with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to coordinate client's incoming orders with laboratory operations and database integrationsWrite instrument protocols and teach robots or program automation as neededCreate SOPs and ensure all instrument documentation is kept up to dateInteract with customers on technical and operational issues as requiredCommunicate clearly with management and colleagues at all levels and provide recommendations to support business needs.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferredExperience in a high throughput operation in biotech, sample management or a similar organizationExpert experience with Tecan, Tomtec, Brooks, Labcyte Echo or similar robotic liquid handling equipmentIn-depth experience programming complex automated liquid handling systemsCollaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively across functions, with excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to handle multiple deadlines and associated pressures and to work effectively across functionsAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environmentBenefits:Competitive base salary (based on experience) + annual discretionary bonusCigna medical, dental, vision insuranceCompany-paid disability and life insuranceVoluntary employee-paid accident, hospital indemnity, critical illness insurance10 paid company holidays (plus 2 floating holidays)15 days PTO annually40 hours sick time annually
