Position Overview: The Substance Abuse Counselor
will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Counselor will evaluate patients progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients achieving overall outcome. Responsibilities:
Completes Bio-psychosocial assessmentProvide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatmentEnsures accurate and current clinical records are maintained in accordance with Federal and State Regulations governing NTP clinicsFacilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the treatment planIdentify other physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs for assigned patientsProvide treatment and casework services to patient as directed by the supervisor in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and with BayMarks policies and procedures.Provide timely documentation of patient services based on plan of care. Identify other physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs for assigned patients.Develop recovery/treatment plans and discharge plansOther related duties as determined by supervisorQualifications:
Must have a Bachelors with an LBSW or ADC certification;
OR
Masters degree and willing to obtain certification/license within 30 months of hire.Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals.Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population.Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screenBenefits:
