Essential Functions of Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):
Answers signal lights and bells to determine resident needsAssists residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair and incontinence careObtains food trays and assists residents with feedingAssists resident with range of motion exercisesProvides for personal care and comfortMovement to wheelchair or activity areasAssists residents with ambulation for short distance in facilityTakes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directedProvides direct and indirect resident care servicesMeets the communication needs of resident and familyCommunicates to nursing team changes in residents’ clinical conditionPerforms other tasks as assigned
Qualifications of Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):
High School diploma or general equivalency is preferredMust pass a state-issued examRequired valid certification as a CNA in the state of MissouriSix months experience in a long-term care environment is preferred.Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situationsAbility to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and facility staff
