Onsite - Monday - Friday (18 hours weekly)
MedMark Treatment Centers provides opiate addiction treatment for individuals in Lufkin and Center, TX in a comfortable, outpatient clinic setting. Our evidence-based treatment program offers methadone maintenance with a focus on substance abuse counseling services to provide the highest success rates possible. Our ultimate goal is to address the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of opioid use disorder to help each of our patients achieve long-term recovery and an improved quality of life.Job Description:The Medical Director serves as the Physician for one or more narcotic treatment programs (NTP) in the State of Texas as designated by MedMark and accepted by Physician. This individual provides patient care, medical evaluation, establishes dosing levels, and interacts as necessary with Federal, state, county & other regulatory bodies. The Medical Director trains & manages subordinate physician extenders and provides health care services directly to patients all under the direction and responsibility of the CEO and Medical Director OTP.Essential Roles and ResponsibilitiesInterviewing, managing, training, and evaluating physician extenders Implementation and enforcement of medical policies, procedures and trainingAssistance as needed with development of clinical policies, procedures and trainingAssistance as needed with completion of Federal, state, county and other regulatory applications, permits, licensure, inspections, etcCorrespondence and interaction with key regulatory (DEA, SMA, Medicaid, SAMHSA/CSAT, etc.) personnel and accrediting bodies as necessaryProviding reports & other data as requested to CEO / Medical Director OTPPatient CarePlanning and supervising provision of treatment for patients (including regular review and notes in the patients record) according to established CSAT and state guidelines with a strong emphasis on quality & customer service.Signs patient record notesOversees patient care provided by physician extender, signs charts, dosing levels, etc., when applicablePlaces patients into treatmentExamines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, documents health history and examination results to meet Federal and state guidelines and refers patient for care elsewhere when indicated (including appropriate follow up)Initiates, alters and terminates replacement narcotic therapy medications following strict protocols meeting the approval of Federal & state guidelines as well as current medical literature for patient careSupervises the administration and dispensing of medicationsConfers with patients private physician as neededExamines staff after on-the-job accidents or injuries as neededServes as a clinic in-service resourceProvides patient education specific to various disease processes within our scope of practiceOversees the continuum of care process for patientsMaintains strict patient, employee, company and computer confidentialityMinimum QualificationsBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Addiction Medicine or Primay Care.At least 1 year of Addiction Medicine and Primary Care experience.Current state licenseMedicare/MedicaidAbility to prescribe methadone & buprenorphineKnowledge of Medial Assisted Treatment is preferred.Satisfactory drug screen and background check.COVID-19 considerations:Everyone will be asked to be in compliance with the most recent COVID guidelines from CDC, State, County and City.Here is what you can expect from us:MedMark Treatment Centers, a progressive substance abuse treatment organization, is committed to the highest quality of patient care in a comfortable outpatient clinic setting.
