Lewis Roca, a top-ranked Am Law 200 law firm, currently has a full-time Litigation Paralegal opportunity to work on construction defect litigation matters. Summary:

The Litigation Paralegal position will provide organizational and practice-specific assistance to attorneys in a specialized litigation team, preparing cases from onset through post-trial, including related research and analysis. Qualified candidates demonstrate professionalism, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and work in an organized, efficient manner. Travel may be required on occasion. Some flexibility to work remotely one or two days per week can be available after initial training and ramp-up, with a weekly office presence several days a week in support of the high collaboration and relationship orientation of the team and the office.

Duties & Responsibilities:Assists attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trialAssists attorneys and other paralegals in large-scale projects outside of typical litigation scopeOversees organization, maintenance, and appropriate utilization of electronic and hard-copy documents and other case-related materials, including maintenance of electronic case folders and tracking spreadsheets across various platformsAssists and manages the discovery process and prepares for depositionsParticipates in document reviews and document productions; works with attorneys and other paralegals in navigating electronic databases as part of case fact developmentPerforms analytical tasks; reviews and summarizes documents and deposition transcriptsAssists with basic legal research, including locating cases, statutes, and regulatory materials; conduct fact research on the internet and private search engines, such as Westlaw and LexisAssists with law and motion practice, assembles motion papers and exhibits, coordinates filings of pleadings and briefs, and ensures proper serviceDrafts common pleadings, motions, notices, and other court filingsFamiliar with federal and state rules of procedure and evidence for document format, content, filing, etc., and ensures compliance with rulesPerforms and oversees both simple and complex authority and fact cite-checking; confirms case quotes; proofreads briefs and other legal documentsAssists with trial preparations; creates trial notebooks; identifies and organizes exhibits, coordinates witness schedules; maintains trial calendars; and communicates effectively with opposing counsel and courtroom staffAssists in preparation of post-trial filings, including briefing, motions for costs and sanctions, etc. and organize the case for an appeal, if necessaryMaintains timely and accurate timekeeping records on a daily basisAssists with other department activities as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assignedPerform other duties as requestedSome duties may require in-office presence.Skills & Competencies:

Ability to communicate professionally and interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including management staff and support staff while anticipating the needs of attorneys, clients, and mattersDemonstrated attention to detail, reliability, outstanding organizational skills, and ability to learn new technologyExcellent client service skills and ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously in an organized manner and under minimal supervisionSkilled at drafting clear and concise memoranda, detailed fact summaries, pleadings, and other documentsFlexibility to respond quickly and positively to shifting deadlines and/or strict deadlines, with the willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed, including weekendsPosition may periodically require off-site work at a war room or the courthouse when the case goes to trialEducation & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree and Paralegal Certification preferred; equivalent experience consideredMinimum of 7 or more years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal working on construction defect litigation matters within a multi-lawyer law firmNALA certification preferredExceptional computer skills, with the ability to learn and apply new software applications quicklyTrial experience, including exhibit preparation, witness preparation, and management, knowledge of subpoena preparation, experience working with judicial assistants and trial presentation vendors, experience assisting attorneys in the courtroomComputer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, as well as document managementProficiency with e-filing and litigation support applications such as e-discovery platforms (e.g., Eclipse or Relativity), FileSite/WorkSite, Adobe Acrobat, cloud-based file-sharing platforms / FTP link platforms, and similar technologyPay rate:

$90,000 - $115,000 depending on experience.
