JOB DESCRIPTION
Estimator-Commercial Construction
One of the top full-service General Contractors in the DMV market is seeking an Estimator that is well versed in ground-up Commercial Construction. Throughout the years they have perfected their service and company culture producing many long tenured employees (over half of the workforce has been there 10+ years!) and repeat clients! Estimator Responsibilities: Estimators are responsible for developing accurate and complete job estimates. The Estimator identifies project labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, written specifications and related documents. Conducts site visits and attends pre-bid meetings to understand the project scope. Conducts review and take-off of blueprints. Gathers subcontractor pricing and conducts scope review. Evaluate subcontractor bids to bid documents and plans to ensure that the full scope of work was considered. Calculates costs of subcontract labor, general conditions, and materials. Collaborates with the client to help them achieve their project cost budget through consideration of plan details, alternate material/finishes and building methods. Estimator Qualifications:
Must possess a working knowledge of commercial construction documentation and pricing; able to read plans and specifications and translate them into estimates BS/BA in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field preferred 2+ years of experience estimating Commercial Construction projects is required 1+ years of experience estimating all divisions of multimillion dollar Commercial ground-up projects is required Needs full comprehension of drawings Proficient with computers, tablets and smartphones, including typing skills Willingness to work necessary hours to ensure all project estimating needs are being met Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with RFIs, Change orders, is highly preferred Estimator Benefits:
