Job Description
Title: Business Development Director- Corporate Development - Japanese Bilingual -
Salary: $150K + Incentive Bonus
Location:
Silicon Valley
Work Style: WFH, or you can work at the co-working spaces the company registers
Candidates must already live in the San Jose area.
Responsibilities:
Business Development / SALES- :
Creating business opportunities, acquiring new customers, and strengthening relationships with existing clients to maximize revenue. Client Interaction:
Engage with top tech innovators in North America via emails, calls, face-to-face meetings, and trade show visits. Relationship Building:
Identify targets, build relationships, develop proposals, close deals, and engage clients post-sale. Communication:
Frequently interact with founders, CEOs, and CTOs, understanding commercial and technical value propositions in various sectors such as robotics, renewable energy, electronics, software, and automotive. Travel:
Travel within North America and occasionally to Asia for client meetings, conferences, and visiting global offices. Tools and Support:
Utilize tools like Salesforce CRM and Sales Navigator and have access to a library of company decks and templates. Benefit from the support and experience of colleagues. People Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of business development professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Qualifications/Requirements:
Language Skills:
Fluent English and Japanese skills for effective communication. Experience:
Experience working in the
Open Innovation
Department of a Japanese corporate in the US, who understands the strategy, objectives, pain points, budget cycle and decision-making process of Japanese corporates and their innovation offices in Silicon Valley. Consulting experience in the Innovation/Business Development space, specifically working with Japanese corporates in Silicon Valley.
Networking:
Deep understanding and network within the North American venture capital and tech environment. Interest in Tech:
Genuine interest in technology, sustainability, and international business. Work Authorization:
