Location Description
Located on the beachfront between the Atlantic Ocean and Currituck Sound, our Sanderling Resort is as an idyllic of a workplace as they come. Between the hotel and private homes on location, the vast ocean and tranquil sound, protective dunes and dancing marsh grasses, and excellent staff with a CARE culture, we think you'll find Sanderling to be an excellent home away from home. Sanderling Resort boasts 120 guest rooms, and 18,448 sq ft of event space. Come be a part of something bigger! We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Event Manager to join our team! As the Event Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a wide range of events, ensuring they meet the expectations of our clients and guests. This role requires a creative thinker with strong organizational skills and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences in a beachfront setting.
Key Responsibilities:Event Planning and Coordination:Collaborate with clients to understand their event requirements and objectives.Plan and execute all details of events, including weddings, corporate functions, private parties, and community events.Coordinate with various departments (catering, facilities, housekeeping, etc.) to ensure seamless event execution.Select and manage vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee delivery of services.Develop event timelines and schedules, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Guest Experience and Satisfaction:Ensure all events reflect the high standards and unique atmosphere of our beachfront resort.Proactively handle any issues or concerns that arise during events, ensuring guest satisfaction.Anticipate guest needs and preferences, providing personalized service to enhance their experience.
Budget Management:Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring events are profitable and within budgetary guidelines.Monitor expenses, reconcile invoices, and provide regular financial reports.
Marketing and Sales Support:Assist with marketing efforts to promote event spaces and packages.Participate in site visits and tours for prospective clients.Support the sales team in generating new business and cultivating client relationships.
Event Administration:Maintain accurate records of all events, including attendance, expenses, and client feedback.Prepare post-event evaluations and reports to analyze event success and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:Proven experience as an Event Manager or similar role, preferably in a seasonal resort setting.Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.Attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or related field (preferred).Additional Requirements:
Familiarity with event management software and tools.Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.Passion for delivering memorable guest experiences in a beachfront environment.Benefits:
