Position Overview:The Senior Marketing Manager (or Lead) will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and retention for our commercial reinsurance products. This role requires a seasoned marketing professional with a strong background in B2B marketing, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the reinsurance industry.We are seeking a proactive, creative, and hands-on Senior Marketing Manager (Lead) to help drive the BMS Re sales and business strategy and facilitate growth of the U.S. business. This role requires planning, creating and delivering marketing strategies across the marketing mix, leading a small and dynamic team. Travel to our various offices, including New York, Minneapolis, Dallas, Atlanta, and Philadelphia, as well as to industry conferences will be required.
Essential Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the BMS Re’s business objectives and growth targets.Campaign Management: Lead the creation, execution and optimization of multi-channel marketing campaigns including print, digital, events and PR. Conduct analysis and issue regular status reports on marketing program effectiveness and ROI.Market Research: Conduct market analysis and competitive research to identify trends, opportunities and threats, and use insights to inform marketing strategies.Website and digital marketing: Develop and implement digital marketing strategies that drive traffic, engagement, and conversions. Responsibilities include managing the company’s website, ensuring it is optimized for SEO, overseeing content creation, and executing digital campaigns across various platforms. Analyze performance metrics to refine strategies, enhance user experience, and maximize ROI. Proficiency in web analytics tools, social media platforms, and digital advertising is essential.Brand Management: Be the brand guardian for BMS Re to ensure consistent messaging and positioning across all marketing materials and channels.Content Creation: Work with internal teams and external agencies to develop high quality marketing content, including brochures, whitepapers, case studies, and social media content, and conference materials.Asset Management: Maintain well-organized filing systems for marketing materials and other important information. Ensure documents and assets are easy to retrieve when needed, contributing to a seamless workflow.Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of marketing materials, ensuring there is an adequate supply of brochures, flyers, promotional items, and other collateral. Coordinate with suppliers to restock materials as needed and manage logistics for distribution.Metrics and Reporting: Establish KPI’s, track performance and generate detailed reports on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives.Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high performing work environment.Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with sales, product and customer servicing teams to ensure alignment and support business goals.Event Marketing Support: Oversee all corporate events and conferences, working closely with the Conferences and Events team to ensure all events are delivered with professionalism and deliver the business desired impact and KPI.Project Management: Manage all programs of work effectively to align to committed deliverables. Organize and maintain detailed records of project progress to support successful completion and facilitate effective communication among team members.Social Media: Plan and prepare the social media calendar. Manage content execution across various platforms, including LinkedIn. Work with social media resources to monitor audience engagement, gather social media metrics, and provide feedback to management to enhance content reach and engagement.Sponsorship Assistance: Provide support for sponsorship initiatives, including coordinating with partners, organizing sponsorship-related materials, and ensuring compliance with sponsorship agreements. Assist with the planning and execution of sponsored events or activities, and track deliverables to ensure fulfillment of sponsorship obligations. Maintain communication with the sponsored parties and internal teams to ensure smooth coordination.On-site Conference and Event Support: Provide onsite leadership at BMS events and/or industry conferences by making real-time, unsupervised decisions, directing vendors and staff (as appropriate), evaluating risks and course-correcting when necessary to ensure event and/or conference attendance and representations remains successful, on-budget and brand-centered.Budget Management: Support the development and management of annual marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets. Obtain and review bills from vendors and ensure approval and process for payment, track expenses, reconcile invoices, maintain records for budgetary needs, provide regular reports on budget status to management, and work with the executive team on future budgetary items.Other: Partner with other external resources to develop and execute marketing campaigns, programs and projects, as appropriateRequired Education, Experience and Skills:Minimum of 6 years of experience working in advertising and/or corporate marketing environments, preferably in the insurance/reinsurance industryProven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies and campaigns.Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including SEO, SEM, Social media and marketing automation.Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.Self-starter with the ability to execute under deadline pressureOutstanding project management skills with the ability to effectively manage many simultaneous projects, with a high degree of autonomy, using systems to organize and keep track of large amounts of information.Highly developed oral and written communication skills and ability to draft and edit content to ensure reader understanding and appropriate messagingStrong sense of ownership and accountabilityAttention to detail, analytical skills, and business acumenCreative thinkerSkilled in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel), Microsoft Teams, and Adobe Creative Cloud (including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), and CanvaCompetency in email platforms such as DotDigital and/or MailchimpAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlinesWhat’s in it for me?
