Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Principal Engineer, Software Engineering in Salt Lake City, Utah. This is a hybrid position that requires working in the Salt Lake City, Utah facility at least 3 days per week and allows working remotely from home 2 days per week.

What YOU will do
Trains, instructs and provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers to help them diagnose and solve problems and build capabilities.
Recommends innovative design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required software needs for products/equipment.
Ensures that the applicable products meet the customer's specification and relevant requirements. Develops software configuration standards for company-wide use to ensure current and future business targets are met.
Trains software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards that include control modeling and model-based design.
Qualifications You Must Have
Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Graphics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field and 10 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role. In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Graphics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field and 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role would be acceptable.
Must also possess at least 7 years of experience in C++ programming for deterministic real-time simulation.
Must also possess at least 5 years of experience in linear algebra and numerical simulations.
Must also possess at least 5 years of experience in game engine development for simulation.
Must also possess at least 5 years of experience in high-performance GPU and parallel computing.
Must also possess at least 3 years of experience working with and leading software development teams.
Salary Range:
The salary range is $118,000.00 to $246,000.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
