Our client in the financial services industry is seeking a Mainframe Software Engineer to join their team. As a Mainframe Software Engineer, you will be part of the Project/Transformation Team supporting Cards. The ideal candidate will have strong CICS, JCL, COBOL, and DB2 skills, as well as experience with mainframe change management tools and cards.
Job Title: Mainframe Software Engineer
Location: Remote (team comes in once a month so prefer someone local or at least in driving distance from Raleigh)
Pay Range: Up to $60/hour
What's the Job?
Assist with the development and implementation of software for enterprise loans applications
Write reliable, testable, maintainable, and performant code
Work cross-functionally with loans product teams, project managers, business analysts, stakeholders, and other engineering teams to create fast, intuitive, stable, and easy to use software to meet the needs of the organization and our members
Collect data related to user requests and determines scope, time estimates, and system impacts
Inspect business and programming specifications, coding, test plans, documentation, and implementation plans for accuracy
What's Needed?
Minimum of 5 years’ mainframe development experience in design, analysis and coding, working with CICS, JCL, MVS, VSAM, and mainframe change management tools
Strong CICS, JCL experience
Strong COBOL skills
DB2 experience (tech is new at SECU and team only has one person on the team that can work with it)
Cards experience (for role launched 10/30)
