Holy Trinity Episcopal School
is a non-profit, independent day school serving students in grades 6-12 who struggle to learn, belong, and make friends due to learning differences. Our Mission is

We seek an exceptional Head of School for the 2025-26 School Year, specifically an experienced and effective leader, teacher, administrator, and community builder. The Head of School (HOS) is the School’s Chief Operations Officer and Instructional Leader who collaboratively focuses all staff, resources, and services on advancing our Mission. At the heart of our Mission is preparing all teachers to provide specialized programming. The HOS reports to the School’s Board of Directors.
Responsibilities of the Position:
Embodies and advocates the Mission of the School consistent with our Episcopal School Identity
Collaborates with the Board of Directors on the implementation of the Mission
Oversees all school operations and activities: academic, athletic, religious, and extracurricular
Develops and manages annual operating and capital budgets, and a 3-year strategic plan; collaborates with the leadership team to manage grants and funds received
Employs all human resources; manages employment contracts; prescribes duties; manages personnel and conducts periodic performance review discussions
Ensures effective communication within the school community and with parents, staff, the Board
Designs and implements a student recruitment program to ensure the total capacity of 49 students
Ensures that ESE Best Practices and Behaviors are in place in and out of the classroom; supports and participates in the delivery of periodic staff/teacher professional development sessions throughout the year
Collaborates on the development of evidence-based systems for accessing, tracking, and measuring student progress
Oversees curriculum and instructional programming, overall and specialized
Develops and maintains professional, collaborative, and collegial relationships with the Rector, faculty, staff, volunteers, and members of the Board
Builds effective relationships with students and their parent(s)/guardian(s).
Facilitates parent involvement and supports parent partnership; Establishes a good working relationship with the Family Group
Leads policy development and enforcement
Represents the School in its relations with state, federal, local, and accrediting agencies
Represents the school at community and public events
Experience and Educational Requirements
Minimum of BA/BS degree in Education, or related field; MS in Educational Leadership highly desirable
Demonstrated leadership success in a middle or high school
At least 5 years of teaching experience at the secondary school level
Significant experience and knowledge of exceptional student education, including ESE best practices
A strong understanding of what it means to support teachers in instructional practices
A background in independent schools, especially Episcopal schools, is highly desirable

About Holy Trinity Episcopal School
We are a non-profit, independent day school for students in grades 6-12 who struggle to learn, belong, and make friends in a traditional school environment due to conditions such as ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, or other learning challenges. Holy Trinity Episcopal School is a mission of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and is co-situated on our 11-acre campus. Classes maintain a 7:1 student/teacher ratio. Our 2024-25 enrollment is 42 students ─ maximum enrollment is 49. Support staff includes: an Operations Coordinator, a School Counselor, an ESE Specialist, an Office Administrator, 13 teachers (FT/PT), and a Paraprofessional. When students graduate from HTES with a full diploma and go on to college, a vocational program, or work, we have fulfilled our Mission:
to provide students with learning differences the opportunity to excel academically, socially, spiritually, and independently.
