Flatiron is continuing to transform infrastructure and we are looking for an experienced Project Director to be part of our growing team! You will be responsible for leading and managing single large scale projects or multiple complex projects through preconstruction, project award and active construction, overseeing project personnel and liaising with external managing partners to ensure project success. What you will be doing
Takes the lead role during preconstruction stages, which may span various collaborative contract models (CMGC, CMAR, Progressive Design Build) and more traditional Design Build or larger scale Bid Build projects. Project will range in value from $100M to $1BN+. Provides technical expertise during project pursuits and participates in bid interviews. Assesses the initial project contract and works with owner to resolve specification, contract conflict and scheduling issues. Works with the client and external managing partners to develop a unified project plan through all stages of complex collaborative-delivery and design-build projects. Engages with all project stakeholders proactively, including joint venture Executive Board, high level federal authorities, local landowners, business owners and regulatory bodies to ensure project success. Manages all aspects of assigned projects, including project and construction management teams, budget and cash management reviews, ensuring compliance with the contract and the owners needs. Develops and oversees project schedule, pay estimates, project procedures, and equipment resources. Proactively identifies project risk and negotiates complex change orders. Presents monthly project reports to Flatiron Executive Leadership. Reviews weekly safety reports and participates in monthly safety review meetings with project personnel to ensure safety is always the number one priority. Resolves dispute resolutions with the project owner in a timely and compliant manner. Oversees project closeout procedures, ensuring contract paperwork is finalized, obtaining retainages and working with executive management to resolve any project claims. Leads project debrief cycle to review all aspects of project work and completion. What we are looking for
15+ years' experience in construction project management required. 10+ years' experience in managing personnel required. Substantial experience in managing large scale water and water treatment projects. Experience in overseeing civil, structural, mechanical and process work on large scale W/WWTP projects. Proven self perform experience in CMCG, design build or other alternative and collaborative delivery projects required. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field a plus. Strong interpersonal skills proven to engage and retain positive working relationships. Strong proven skill to identify, track and manage project risk. Proven ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple departments and direct reports to retain focus on one project completion goal and timeline. Proven ability to identify growth opportunities for project personnel and develop to coach and mentor project personnel. Proven ability to delegate task driven responsibilities to project personnel. Proven knowledge and ability to analyze and interpret financial documentation to identify and mitigate project risk.
