Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programs Manager

surrounding area.Salary Range: $116,076 - $128,112Develop, implement, and oversee initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across the organization. Collaborate with leadership, employees, and external stakeholders to create a supportive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and ensures equity in all aspects of the County. Create and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate program effectiveness and ensure adequate DEI support for employees. Advance the County's strategic goals and assess DEI programs aligned to the County Roadmap policies, focusing on implementation and employee engagement. Work collaboratively with leadership, county officials, and other key stakeholders to successfully manage programs that foster a welcoming and inclusive work culture.Responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of comprehensive DEI programs and initiatives for county employees, ensuring they align with organizational goals and objectives.Execute DEI programs, initiatives, and policies to foster an inclusive workplace culture, including training programs and opportunities for employee engagement in partnership with the Bureau of Human Resources.Develop and update policies and procedures to ensure compliance with DEI principles and relevant laws and regulations.Establish metrics to track progress on DEI goals and prepare regular reports for senior management and stakeholders.Prepare and present regular reports on DEI program performance to leadership and other stakeholders, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.Collaborate with community outreach to promote DEI initiatives and leverage resources and partnerships.Serve as a subject matter expert on DEI matters, providing guidance and advice to leadership, managers, and employees.Manage the budget and resources allocated for DEI programs and initiatives.Ensure efficient and effective use of resources to maximize the impact of DEI activities.Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support DEI efforts.Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in DEI, incorporating new insights and approaches into program management to enhance effectiveness and relevance.Basic Hiring Criteria
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university plus a minimum of four (4) years of experience working in diversity, equity, and inclusion plus two (2) years of supervisory experience OR an equivalent combination of professional work experience, training, and education.Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of various methods and techniques essential for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within an organization.Knowledge of office management principles, including effective organizational and administrative practices.Highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, resourceful, and a self-starter.Ability to handle highly sensitive and complex situations with discretion and tact, effectively navigating and resolving challenging issues while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.Ability to effectively manage professional and skilled support staff on a day-to-day basis, ensuring optimal team performance and productivity.Ability to lead within the established objectives and make decisions regarding daily priorities and the application of technical/business processes for a workgroup or segment of a department.Ability to set overall direction and hold staff accountable for accomplishing work objectives by fostering positive relationships between employees, leadership, and stakeholders.Ability to leverage organizational and departmental objectives and goals to identify and design efficient processes that align with and support the achievement of these goals.Benefits offered to vary by the contract.
