Responsibilities
Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies
Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.
Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.
Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.
Assist with care, calibration and maintenance of all equipment. Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment. Processe equipment per established cleaning/sterilization procedures.
Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
Education:
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
