HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:
The Senior Marketing Technology Architect is the key technical resource guiding projects and assessing the marketing technology landscape for key integration points and data mapping. This resource engages with senior marketing leadership and should be comfortable articulating technical solutions to business stakeholders. This resource should have a background in marketing technology, progressing from a technical IC to a leader in this space.
Systems design and tool assessment (50%)
Technical Architecture & Strategy: Lead the architecture of marketing technologies with a focus on Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Customer Data Platform (CDP), and Personalization platform to drive customer engagement and business growth.
Systems Integration: Design integration solutions between Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other e-commerce systems, CRM, CDP, loyalty programs, and in-store systems, ensuring a cohesive, omnichannel experience.
Marketing Automation: Architect and enhance marketing automation workflows within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, focusing on segmentation, dynamic email content, journey automation, and real-time personalization.
Customer Data Management: Lead the development and management of the Customer Data Platform (CDP) to centralize, unify, and activate customer data for personalized marketing initiatives. Enable advanced customer segmentation and predictive analytics.
Project engagement (25%)
Engage in RFP evaluation of new tools and systems.
Participate in new implementation calls, document outcomes, and finalize tech design to be executed by teams.
Oversight and Consultation on ongoing operations (25%)
Technical Advisement: Provide technical advisement to business partners on the marketing content creation platform, ensuring that it aligns with overall marketing strategies and system architecture. Offer guidance on optimizing content creation processes to improve workflow efficiency and content effectiveness.
Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, IT, and customer experience teams to translate business needs into technical solutions that enhance customer engagement and loyalty.
Security & Compliance: Ensure that all marketing technologies, especially the CDP, adhere to privacy and data protection standards (GDPR, CCPA), and maintain secure data handling practices.
WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF: (REQUIREMENTS SECTION)
8+ years of experience in technical architecture, with a focus on marketing technologies, preferably in the retail or e-commerce sector.
Strong experience integrating marketing technologies with e-commerce systems, CRM platforms, and other data management systems.
Proficiency in designing and optimizing customer journeys across email, web, mobile, and in-store experiences.
Experience providing technical guidance on marketing content creation platforms, working closely with business stakeholders to improve content management processes.
Strong project management and communication skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
Proficient in APIs, microservices architecture, and the integration of third-party marketing technologies.
Experience in data-driven marketing, including segmentation, A/B testing, and performance analysis.
Preferred skills and experience:
Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data management solutions.
Knowledge of machine learning and AI-driven personalization techniques.
Familiarity with loyalty programs and retail-specific marketing platforms.
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field (MIS or CS preferred) or experience commensurate with a degree above the 4 years already listed.
Retail experience preferred.
