Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity, and bringing your whole self to work.Northrop Grumman's Commercial Space Sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer to support Crew Systems (CS) Engineering as the Cost Account Manager (CAM) on the Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) Program. Crew Systems Engineering is responsible for managing the life cycle for a variety of hardware needed by the Flight Crew on-orbit to live and work in space as well as integrated vehicle activities and testing for crew support. Familiarity with mechanical hardware from requirements definition through fabrication, qualification, and integration and testing as well as Systems Engineering integration is highly desired.The CS engineering CAM must actively manage and take ownership of the CS budgets, schedule, and Program tasking. Responsibilities include:EV weekly reporting including budget status, schedule status, variance reporting.Generation and processing of Budget Change Requests (BCR).Maintenance of CS sections of the Integrated Master Schedule for the HALO Program.Management of subcontracts from initiation through closeout.Status to Program Management weekly.Cost and schedule estimating for new tasks and support of rebaselining as needed.Basic Qualifications:B.S. in STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related area and 8 years of experience; M.S. in STEM or related area and 6 years of experience.Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance.3+ years relevant System Engineering Integration (SEI) or hardware development experience.5+ years experience as a Cost Account Management including schedule management, Earned Value Management System, and budget rebaselining efforts.Significant experience with Systems Engineering processes, engineering lifecycle, technical readiness levels, and technical evaluation with objective and subjective supportive data.Experience with requirements management.Preferred Qualifications:Current NG CAM certification.Experience with Subcontract management.Experience with Human Spaceflight crew hardware and operations.Experience with the interpretation and application of complex systems integration, systems safety, crew survivability, and habitability requirements to system design.Experience with hardware development and qualification and acceptance testing.Experience with Confluence/Jira.Salary Range:
$133,000 - $199,600Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
