ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Consumer Loan Operations Manager will act as the subject matter expert as it relates to all consumer and residential real estate loan booking and servicing utilizing the loan core system. This position will liaison with various business units that touches consumer loans or consumer loan related functions including but not limited to research, lien perfection, reporting and tracking processes, and resolving consumer loan issues. The position will work with individuals from across the Credit Union to act as a resource relating to the loan system and client loan information. Additionally, the position will support the consumer lending growth strategy by assisting the VP Operations with specific credit product development and implementation.
NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK1. Leads and manages a team of consumer loan specialists, ensuring department objectives, as well as staffing and other internal departments training needs are met. Supports other departments as necessary by providing expertise in consumer lending servicing related needs, and training for existing staff as needed.2. Performs loan account maintenance and servicing, balancing, and reporting processes including proficiency in GL reconciliation and transactions.3. Assists maintaining existing consumer credit products in the Credit Union's core system and lending operating system to ensure they align appropriately.4. Ensures the accuracy of data maintenance, file maintenance, tickler maintenance, payoff calculations, required reporting, and compliance with operating procedures, policy, and regulations.5. Manages the consumer HELOC real estate closings/transactions to ensure correct structure, loan documentation, and loan is boarded accurately into the core system. Manage fulfillment closing team associated with HELOC real estate closings.6. Participates in consumer and RE loan documents in multiple lending jurisdictions, lien filing, and titling, and vehicle and RE insurance, taxes, and escrow.7. Recognizes product exceptions to all consumer loans and work to resolve.8. Creates and/or amends as necessary loan servicing processes, procedures, policies and systems with knowledge of all consumers related regulations related to real estate and non-real estate consumer loans.9. Identifies and implements cross-functional process improvement opportunities.10. Participates in the review and recommendations of operational systems and procedures.11. Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations concerning consumer loan servicing of real estate and non-real estate products.12. Prepares for and assists with coordinating internal/external audits pertaining to consumer credit products. Expectation of zero audit exceptions as it relates to scope of responsibility. Performs periodic self-audits of all areas of responsibility.13. Display integrity, self-awareness, courage, and respect for staff while ensuring learning agility and flexibility communicating and delegating effectively. Work effectively, collaboratively, and creatively in a team-oriented environment both internally and externally.14. Take ownership for actions, decisions, and results; openly accept feedback and demonstrate both the willingness and ability to improve.
JOB QUALIFICATIONSHere are a few skills you MUST have to be qualified for this position.1. Minimum 7-9 years of consumer loan real estate and non-real estate experience; including 1-3 years of management experience.2. Experience with consumer loan and documentation procedures, policies, regulations and laws, in addition to knowledge of bankruptcy and consumer law.3. Demonstrate ability to multi-task, prioritize, and accept change and function in a team environment. Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.4. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer).5. Travel required on occasion.

Prefer a minimum of 2-3 years of Credit Union credit experience.3. Possess strong analytical and computer skills.4. Ability to be resourceful and remain flexible.5. Technical background and on-going maintenance of loan core system as well as a functional understanding of a loan origination system (LOS).
