This position will also be responsible for responding to catenary related construction correspondence in active railroad environments.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Review and manage engineering designs, and construction related RFIs, work plans, material submissions, and design changes prepared by outside consultants for projects to be constructed on Amtrak property and/or behalf of outside third parties to ensure compliance with industry and Amtrak standards. Provide technical expertise to other departments and make engineering decisions for Division Engineers and their staffs. Provide Construction Related Engineering assistance when requested by Division Personnel, Amtrak Contractors, and when necessary conduct field inspections in order to make engineering decisions, ensure project timelines are met, and oversee quality control on site.
