Front End Technical Lead, Safety Engineering, 11+ Years of Experience

to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Safety Engineering org, you will prototype, develop and productionize technical solutions to protect user safety on our platform. Working from our Los Angeles, Mountain View, or Seattle office, you will be tasked with solving interesting technical challenges in the user safety domain, architecting and deploying infrastructure to handle at scale and making our platform safe and secure for millions of Snapchatters.What you’ll do:

Lead, design and implement large-scale front-end applications to protect user safety.Lead, design, implement, and operate our critical and scalable services across the user safety infrastructure.Work cross functionally to deep dive into open problems to keep abuse off the platform.Evaluate trade-offs and deliver the solutions needed to build innovative products.Lead the efforts for engineering best practices regarding availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management.Guide junior engineers on the team through design, code reviews, and mentorship.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Lead from the front in terms of technical design and execution.Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently to solve organizational level challenges.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail.Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company.Experience in solving open ambiguous problems from product inception to delivery.Proven track record of operating highly-available systems at significant scale.Strong JavaScript (and/or TypeScript), HTML, and CSS programming skills.Knowledge of ReactJS, AngularJS, or similar UI frameworks.Knowledge of OOP, SOLID, and FP principles.Solid understanding of object-oriented and functional programming principles.Understanding of domain-driven design principles.Understanding CQRS, GraphQL, GRPC, Web GL, Canvas.Proven knowledge of unit testing.Minimum Qualifications:

BS/BA in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience.11+ years of experience developing Front End software.Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in a related technical field.Experience working with large-scale microservices and distributed systems.Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks (Cypress, Puppeteer or Playwright).Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments.Experience making critical decisions for complex technical issues in real-time, considering timelines and urgency.Experience working with a diverse group of engineers.Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $114,000-$171,000 annually.Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $108,000-$163,000 annually.Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $97,000-$145,000 annually.This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
