1WorldSync is the industry leader in product content management. With approximately 600 employees across the US, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, and the UK, we’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support our growing global team.

Reporting directly to our Director of Engineering, the Senior Software Engineer will work closely with other engineers of varying disciplines (DevOps, QA, Front-End ReactJS, Full-Stack Ruby, etc), product, data science as well as other parts of the organization. They use AWS with many of our applications written in Java and open-source technologies. We are always looking to adopt modern technology to solve business challenges

As Senior Software Engineer at 1WorldSync, responsibilities include the following:

Build out features and solutions to collect, moderate, deliver and/or performance analytics on user generated contentBecome an expert on one of our solutions and area of our codebase, while understanding the larger architecture of our entire suite of solutionsParticipate in technical brainstorming and knowledge transfer sessions; provide technical advice at a team level and a department levelCommunicate across teams by collaborating with product managers, UX designers, operations and other development teams to build a holistic experienceProactively identify pain points and potential issues within our architecture and code base, proactively tackles tech debtContribute to each step of the product development process, from ideation and design, to planning and architecting, to building out the solution and infrastructure, to testing, to releasing and maintenanceParticipate, build and implement department CI/CD, application monitoring, security, and general developer tooling initiativesOther duties as assigned

Required Skills And Experience

5+ years of full stack application development in our language stack (Kotlin, Ruby, Java, Python) and a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar)3+ years of experience developing APIs for front end applications (JavaScript, Elm)3+ years of strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and large data sets1+ years experience leveraging and maintaining CI/CD tooling (CircleCI, Drone, GitHub Actions)1+ years experience leveraging infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)

Desired Skills And Experience

Previous experience leveraging automated database DDL (Liquibase, Flyway)Previous experience with object data stores (AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, GCP Cloud Storage) and/or document data stores (AWS DynamoDb, MongoDB, NoSQL)Previous experience with event driven development (SQS, SNS, Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub) and idempotent patternsPrevious experience building containerized applications (Docker) and deploying them to orchestration (AWS ECS, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm)Experience with source control tools such as Git

Additional Details

This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days per week at our Chicago headquarters location.This role requires the candidate to have the authority to work in, and be located in the US.
