Product Development Scientist

The Product Development team’s purpose is to lead the innovation and productivity agendas to grow KDP brands, transform beyond its core, and improve the profitability of our products. At KDP, our inspiration is to bring meaningful impact and that starts with our company vision -- Drink Well, Do Good!The Scientist role within Research and Development will support the product Innovation agenda to develop consumer-centric liquid beverages across existing and new platforms in several categories and brands. The Scientist will work in a dynamic environment to support the development and commercialization of new concepts and prototypes. This role positions Keurig Dr Pepper to develop and commercialize new products to delight our consumers and customers.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIESLeads bench-top experiments, formula calculations, and develops prototypes for product tastings and sensory testing across a variety of KDP brands and productsInterprets test results, writes technical reports, and effectively communicates information within the organizationVerifies formula accuracy, completes formula documentation, and conducts pilot-plant trialsFully understands R&D functions and project management process to lead the commercialization of ideas to launchPartners with various functions of R&D (Sensory, Ingredients, Nutrition, Regulatory, Flavor Technology, Chemistry, Process Engineering, and Technical Services)Influences and actively participates in Marketing and Consumer Research programs to gain consumer insights, and translate into key product conceptsManages multiple projects and represents R&D in cross-functional teams consisting of members across various departments of KDP (R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sales)Delivers updates on projects within the business to key stakeholders and cross-functional peersDevelop the ability to effectively communicate technical information to senior leadershipProactively identifies opportunities for improvement within functionMaintains accurate and detailed record of laboratory workWork appropriately and safely in a laboratory environmentUse formulation software to document lab work and formulasDemonstrate flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing business needs and prioritiesAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusionA successful candidate will exhibit a passion for innovation
