Capital One’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program is designed to safeguard our communities, company and country by preventing, detecting, and reporting on criminal activity within the financial system.To deliver on this objective, we consume customer and transaction data from across the entire enterprise, run models to detect risky customers and behavior, and then investigate that behavior, providing leads and evidence to support Law Enforcement investigations and prosecution.Success in AML stops criminal activity such as narcotics trafficking, human trafficking, and terrorist financing, while giving the company the confidence to grow and launch new products knowing we have sound and reliable AML defenses.Business Analysts drive decisions across a wide range of Program functions to keep Capital One’s AML defenses ahead of advancements in criminal practices.The ideal candidate will have the following experience or skills:
Machine learning and/or quantitative model development, ideally in a financial crime or risk management contextData analysis using SQL, Python, or similar toolsKPI identification, reporting, and dashboardingAnti Money Laundering or Bank Secrecy Act experience, including building/maintaining Customer Risk Rating toolsCompliance and/or governance functions, such as model risk management or model validationPerforming on a cross functional team alongside teammates with diverse backgrounds and skill setsGeneral Responsibilities:
Analysis: Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make strategic performance marketing recommendations and/or channel-specific marketing optimizationsProduct: Partner with product managers to activate product strategy as part of our overall marketing technology architectureMarketing: Support Capital One’s employer branding and talent marketing efforts and their strategic intent. Help build targeted insights to inform the experimental design and analysis for new and ongoing marketing initiatives to enable campaign, partner and platform successes (both domestic and abroad).Execution: Involve problem frame-works, develop hypotheses, test, analyze, develop solutions, scope operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts and develop a monitoring planPartnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One Talent Acquisition including but not limited to: IT, Recruiting, Operations, Risk, Finance and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitabilityStrategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytic performance marketing of Capital One’s employer brandStrong business judgment, leadership and integrity: He/she/they should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to businessStrong communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal, cooperation and negotiation skillsClear results orientation: Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals.
