Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as CTAHR Chief Fiscal Administrator, providing professional fiscal support and solutions for a wide range of fiscal activities.
Acts as chief resource support for fiscal management theories, concepts, and principles.
Assigns, coordinates, trains, and reviews the work of subordinates; evaluates performance and takes corrective action as necessary.
Ensures compliance with applicable UH, RCUH, State, and Federal policies regarding sponsored project research administration.
Oversees management and distribution of all awarded extramural funds and appropriated institutional funds.
Identifies potential fiscal issues and provides evaluations, advising, and recommendations to unit heads.
Develops and improves internal policies, procedures, and systems to enhance CTAHR fiscal operations.
Conducts college-wide training for administrative/support staff and faculty on fiscal standards and procedures.
Coordinates preparation and analysis of budgets for sponsored project research administration.
Resolves complaints on operational and administrative matters according to current policies.
Develops and presents reports and makes recommendations to management and other personnel.
Represents the college on committees related to fiscal policies and university-wide fiscal management systems.
Acts as a subject matter expert for reviews and recommendations pertaining to sponsored project research administration.
Serves as the main contact for all fiscal audits conducted in CTAHR and supervises audit response preparation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field and 6 years of progressively responsible professional experience in accounting and fiscal administration; or equivalent education/training or experience.
Advanced knowledge of concepts, principles, and methodologies in business administration, accounting, and sponsored project research administration.
Understanding of federal and state laws associated with accounting and personnel administration.
Ability to understand problems from a broad perspective and apply creative problem-solving techniques.
Written and verbal competence in presenting ideas clearly and building consensus.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
Proficiency in personal computer operations and word processing software.
For supervisory roles, ability to lead subordinates and manage work priorities.
Five years of experience managing a staff/team in service provision.
Experience working with federal, state, and UH auditors.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
Knowledge of a doctoral degree granting university engaged in research.
Understanding of UH structure and administrative procedures.
Ability to lead an administrative team effectively.
