Position Summary
Sanofi is searching for a cell culture development professional to join the Commercial Cell Culture Development Department located in Framingham, MA in the role of Scientist. The Global Cell Culture Development group within Sanofi operates with the mission to develop robust, scalable, and innovative cell culture processes for Sanofi’s diverse early and late-stage biologics pipeline.
We are looking for a candidate with excellent scientific, communication, and project management skills to join a team of upstream development scientists and engineers. The scientist is expected to work collaboratively with others in the department to establish and implement best laboratory practices and lead the execution of complex experiments.
Main Responsibilities
Independently plan and lead the execution of upstream process development experiments
Align experimental approaches to overall project goals
Prepare experimental proposals, perform data analysis, and author technical reports
Coordinate the activities of experimental teams of 3 or more individuals
Maintain high quality deliverables, open communication, and a collaborative working environment
Train and mentor junior laboratory staff and assist with their development
Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more selected areas of cell culture development and support the entire upstream development portfolio
Lead projects to develop and implement industry leading cell culture production technologies and platforms
Participate in global initiatives to improve upstream process development approaches
About You
Basic Qualifications
BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry or a related field with 6 years of relevant industrial experience, MS degree with 4 years of relevant experience, or a PhD degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience
Experience executing projects with aggressive timelines and the ability to adapt to rapid changes in project priorities
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry with a mammalian cell culture role and a good understanding of the theory and practice of cell culture process development is preferred
Experience developing and implementing mathematical models for cell culture process development and optimization is preferred
