McCain Foods is seeking a strategic and influential

Director of Business Data Governance . The Director of Business Data Governance will setup a new function to oversee the management of our master data. Master data is the foundation of our enterprise and a key enabler of becoming a more digital-first culture. This role is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of master data management strategies. In this role you will be hiring a new team, defining enterprise standards as well as specifying the necessary tools required to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our master data.

JOB PURPOSE: The Director of Data Governance will lead McCain’s digital transformation by aligning processes globally. This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader who can execute a global vision while ensuring its success through tactical action. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Department Leadership: Define the vision and lead the development and execution of building master data management capability that ensures data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.

Data Ownership: Serve as the ultimate authority on data decisions but in collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and best practices.

Process Standardization and Harmonization: Define and execute the processes needed to manage data across global functions and regional teams.

Change Management: Implementing the MDM vision will require significant cultural change which will require this leader to be a change agent with purposeful plans to bring the organization along.

Strategic Alignment: The Director of Data Governance ensures that McCain’s data standards align with and supports the organization’s strategic objectives. They must understand the broader business context and ensure the process delivers value.

Industry Data Expertise: Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in master data management and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Decision-Making Authority & Reporting Structure: The role encompasses decision-making authority on data management in support of our ERP solution SAP and surrounding systems. The Director of Data Governance will have the authority to make critical data decisions with the regions and escalate where required with the appropriate executives. The Director of Data Governance will report to the Global Head of Business Transformation.

Required Experience and Knowledge:

A minimum of 5 years experience managing master data.

Both global and regional roles within McCain Foods or similar environments.

Expertise in master data, reporting, finance, and supply chain management.

Practical knowledge of Organizational Change Management strategies and approaches.

Systems thinker who understands the downstream impacts of data issues on downstream business processes.

Proven communication skills with an ability to engage both executive-level management and operational teams effectively.

Results-driven and process improvement-focused with a strong propensity for excellence.

In-depth industry knowledge within the context of food production.

Able to approach conflict resolution and negotiation with confidence and tact.
