Position Purpose:Under the direction of the IT Customer Liaison Supervisor and IT Leadership team, the Senior Interface Engineer participates in and administers the design, build, and implementation of interfaces within the Renown Health System. Key responsibilities include designing and building interfaces between Renown's internal applications and external vendor applications. Additional responsibilities involve working with the Interface Coordinator to set priorities on projects; some vendor interaction to resolve issues related to core applications may be required. The Senior Interface Engineer will provide instruction and mentoring to Interface Engineers.The incumbent has the authority to determine optimum interface procedures, including transfer protocols and formats.Nature and Scope:The foregoing description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or work conditions associated with the job. Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or other Healthcare fields will receive preference, but is not required. Requires the ability to read, write, and speak English.Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience with interface design, development, and maintenance, including HL7, X12, and/or XML protocols,

AND

three (3) years of experience in Epic EMR build, design, and implementation with an understanding of interfaces. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in healthcare systems. Experience with EPIC, Bridges, and OPENLink is desired.License(s):

The incumbent is required to become EPIC Certified. Ongoing maintenance of certification is required for continued employment.Computer / Typing:Professional:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
