Essential Responsibilities:

Leads the design, development, and delivery of comprehensive training programs for faculty, staff, and adjunct instructors that align with and support the College’s Strategic Plan. Evaluates and reports on the effectiveness of these programs through metrics, feedback, and performance analysis.

Collaborates with faculty and institutional leaders to assess needs, develop programming, and implement strategies and responsive programs that enhance faculty knowledge and skills in teaching.

Directs the coordination and tracking of mandatory training offered by various departments at San Juan College.

Coordinates professional development events and meetings, providing support to presenters and facilitators, and ensuring that facilities and equipment needs are met.

Promotes professional development events through personal contact, college email and MySJC CPED page.

Works with key offices across the college to plan and coordinate Fall and Spring Convocations and the Learning Symposium.

Oversees the creation and maintenance of training materials, manuals, and documentation.

Develops and distributes resources for professional development such as the professional development library, internal foundation supported programs (e.g. Distinguished Teaching Chairs), and information relevant to teaching, learning, and academic support.

Chairs the Professional Development Team; organizes and facilitates team meetings.

Serves as the liaison for San Juan College with regard to training for the Collaborative of Higher Education Shared Services (CHESS).

Manages the resources of the CPED, including its library collection, equipment, computers, copiers, and printers.

Develops and administers the CPED budget, monitors expenditures, and maintains financial records.

Devotes a majority of work time to supervisory duties; Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more other employees; makes recommendations to hire, promote, and discipline direct reports.

Conducts annual performance reviews of all direct reports.

Performs related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a master’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.

A minimum of 3 years of full-time work experience or the equivalent in part-time work experience. Successful college teaching experience preferred.
