2nd shift CNC Operators to run Lathe / Turn machines

*OT may be required as neededHi-Tek is a Drug-Free Workplace and conducts pre-employment drug and background screening and random drug screening.Essential Duties and TasksReporting to the Shift Supervisor, the operator is responsible for following all policies and procedures associated with the various parts and equipment that he or she will be trained and certified to run. In addition, operators load/unload parts to fulfil production demands, inspect parts using various precision measuring tools, accept or reject parts, and communicate any changes, both verbally and in writing.Operate regular (horizontal) or VTL (vertical) lathe machinesAnalyze and interpret Op sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specificationsVerifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment as necessary (micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)Maintain working knowledge of CNC principles, including G and M codesMaintain working knowledge of rotary/linear axesSelects, aligns, and secures fixtures, tooling, and workpieces on machines as necessary to machine parts as requiredAnalyze, interpret CMM reports, and properly offset machine dimensions to meet customer specificationsPerform deburr operations to within specified tolerancesDocuments actions by updating control charts, travelers, and reporting labor in the ERP systemPerform under AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditationMaintain a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping dutiesAny other duties as assigned to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization’s valuesAccomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishmentEffective communication and people skills to maintain a working relationship with Quality, Engineering, and ManagementDependability, integrity, cooperation and taking the initiative for work responsibilities and challenges are criticalAlways take ownership and be accountable for your actionsReliable attendance and a respectful demeanor are necessaryFollow all Hi-Tek policies and procedures, including the use of proper PPEEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredCNC Machining certificate from a Trade School preferred or acceptable work experience in lieu of schoolingMust meet the ITAR definition of §120.15 U.S. personLathe, Shaft, or Turning experience required - Min 1 yrExperience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, aerospace industry preferredExperience with G & M codes preferredKey CompetenciesThe ability to work efficiently with others or independently as requiredIntegrity and conscientiousness in all work-related mattersSafety conscious alwaysReliable attendance within acceptable standards of attendance policyComplex problem solving with critical math skillsMust be able to follow verbal and written instructions in EnglishMust be able to clearly communicate information to others verbally and in writing in EnglishPhysical Demand LevelsLift, push and/or pull up to thirty-five pounds regularlyOperate overhead crane or other lifting equipment when necessaryStand at least 95% of scheduled shiftWalking or climbing stairs as needed to perform job duties as assignedRoutinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and materialsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 20/20 vision (natural or corrected) required with ability to pass annual vision test as requiredThis job description is a tool to be followed.
