The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization is responsible for creating the spaces that inspire Amazonians to make history. The globally diverse team manages Amazon’s corporate offices in more than 60 countries. GREF provides real estate transactions expertise, business partnering, space and occupancy planning, design and construction, capital investment program management, facility maintenance, and operations all contributing to the employee experience and leveraging places and programs to enable culture to thrive at Amazon.
The GREF Hiring and Org Development team sits within the Operations Excellence team and is responsible for helping GREF service line leaders evolve their organizations through skill assessments, job description development, org chart creation and maintenance, innovative people metrics, interviewer readiness training, and end-to-end hiring process support. The team supports GREF in every region (AMER, EMEA, APAC) and works closely with Amazon’s Talent Acquisition team to coordinate a seamless hiring experience for GREF service line leaders.
As the Manager of GREF Hiring and Org Development you will provide expertise and guidance on org chart requirements, change requests, spans of control, and drive consistency in role and title descriptions and naming conventions. You will oversee a team of third-party vendors who will support your ability to advise and guide GREF hiring managers through the approach to vetting and hiring the best, as well as identifying skill-set gaps as the organization matures and evolves its function and program teams. You will help drive quality and efficiency in the hiring process by translating GREF’s strategic hiring objectives into feasible action plans. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to naturally build strong relationships with customers and delivery partners, have experience in specialty areas such as Human Resources or organization development, a thorough understanding of the office workplace environment and corporate real estate, and display traits such as quick learning, flexibility, and agility.
Key job responsibilities
Build strong relationships with GREF service line customers and Amazon HR stakeholders to define and execute continuous improvement initiatives
Drive consistent and accurate communication across stakeholders and customers; build strong relationships with GREF service line leaders
Identify opportunities to evolve; develop and maintain job description and hiring resource library
Ensure team alignment with the most important opportunities; help GREF Hire team prioritize as needs shift
Contribute to innovation and customer obsession principles through communication and solution development
Achieve consistency and quality through robust, scalable, and detailed global documentation, mechanisms, and deliverables while integrating GREF region diversity
Provide metrics and reporting on hiring trends, pipeline, and needs for actionable insights
Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to understand both technical and business requirements
Build strong partnership with leadership, regional service line leads, and program managers to supply strategic support for key organizational development needs
Manage escalations and urgent development needs requiring immediate action and problem-solving
Act as a thought leader on operational improvement opportunities within the GREF structure, contributing to organizational awareness on best practices
Strategize with stakeholders, challenge outcomes, and propose deliverables to ensure fit for purpose and scalable solutions
Identify lessons learned from initiatives and ensure these contribute to the growth of the organization
Contribute to the development of the GREF org development process and expectations, and overall user experience when hiring
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
5+ years of experience delivering process and organizational structure improvements on a global scale
5+ years of experience in human resources, organizational development or a similar team, with specific experience in recruiting, hiring, or org design
5+ years of experience managing highly confidential information with sensitivity and maturity
5+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
5+ years of program management experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience defining program requirements and using data/metrics to determine improvements
Experience managing local and global process governance mechanisms and documentation, preferably in real estate/facilities projects and operations
Experience managing vendor teams

Comfortable working across multiple geographies/cultures, virtually, across time zones, in a highly dynamic organization
Solid communication skills, including ability to moderate large forums and drive senior stakeholder alignment, building consensus within constraints and conflicting priorities
Ability to write in narrative format
Tech-savvy with the ability to drive adoption of new tools

Experience driving change management plans to roll out new requirements or processes

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $183,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
