The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota occasionally needs lecturers to teach courses that cannot be staffed by regular faculty or graduate students.Appointments may be full-time or part-time and may be limited to one semester. This does not constitute a posting for vacancies but establishes a pool of applicants should openings occur during the 2024-25 academic year. Applicants will be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis throughout the current academic year. Appointments may be renewable based on need, funding, and performance.Duties/Responsibilities:

Prepare and deliver lectures (20%)Prepare homework assignments, quizzes, and exams (20%)Hold office hours (15%)Assess student work (20%)Supervise the teaching assistants (15%)Manage the administration of the course (10%)Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Doctorate in mechanical engineering or a related field required for appointmentThe ability to instruct effectively at both the graduate and undergraduate levels to a diverse group of engineering students is required.Expertise and documented teaching activities must demonstrate a strong potential to enhance the department's teaching missions.Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching engineering curriculum at an institute of higher education is highly desired.How To Apply:
