What You Will Do:We are seeking a Business Unit Manager to provide business leadership that will drive the growth and profitability of the Americas Service business unit at Instron by providing strategic direction and leadership to the $60M Americas Service business with full P&L responsibilities. This role is responsible for developing a growth-oriented culture, cultivating a robust talent pipeline, and serving as a champion of the ITW Business Model. This role is directly responsible for Service Sales & Marketing, Field Service Execution, Technical Support, Repair & Logistics, the Instron Calibration Lab, and Service Software Development.Additionally, as a key member of the Instron Static leadership team working closely with Instron product business units, this leader will seek new high-quality opportunities for growth that leverage the installed product base as well as opportunities to deliver high value incremental services.Qualifications
What You Will Bring:Successful applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in a business or technical field as well as experience across multiple functions such as field service, repair, sales and marketing, and operations is highly preferred. Advanced technical or business-related degree an advantage. The preferred location for this role is Instron’s Norwood, MA facility. Remote candidates who are willing to travel extensively to Norwood and in the field will also be considered. Additional requirements include:Experience in effectively delivering and implementing growth strategies, i.e. builds relationships, inspires stakeholder engagement, and encourages change where necessary.Successful track record in developing annual and long-term objectives, and P & L management.Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to present at all levels of the organization.Exceptionally self-motivated and directed. Results oriented. Sets high goals for personal and team accomplishment.Supportive coach with the ability to hire, develop and retain a diverse pipeline of great talent. Direct experience managing and developing a team of highly capable employees.A global mindset. Ability to collaborate across international service organizations. Must be culturally aware and able to build constructive and effective relationships.A positive attitude focused on understanding, anticipating, and responding to the needs of our customers, both internal and external to the department and organization.Additional Information
