Scientist NMR Spectroscopy - Lead Discovery & Characterization

Live What you will do

In this vital role, you will support drug discovery teams by providing NMR support for open access instrumentation, aiding in NMR experiment design, and providing expertise in structure elucidation studies by NMR techniques. You will participate in the buildout of the NMR facility and general maintenance/troubleshooting of NMR instruments.

The successful candidate will interact effectively in a cross-functional setting, engaging with drug discovery scientists to determine how NMR studies might facilitate the progression of their programs. Responsibilities include:

Provide high-quality reports and presentations to internal drug discovery teams.

Identify and implement novel NMR-based technologies that will improve or accelerate the drug discovery process.

Liaison with the local scientific community to bring in new technologies to the department.

Mentor junior-level staff and participate in scientific meetings, providing reports that support publications, patents, or regulatory submissions.

The professional we seek is a scientist with these qualifications.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree with relevant experience

OR Master’s degree and 2 years of scientific experience

OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of scientific experience in the biopharmaceutical industry

AND

In-depth understanding of NMR spectroscopy and structure elucidation of small molecules.

Demonstrated ability to apply 1D and 2D NMR techniques.

Experience in structure elucidation software for NMR.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in chemistry or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant experience in NMR spectroscopy.

Strong working knowledge of drug discovery and the development of therapeutics.

Understanding of compound purification and structure confirmation by LC-MS/MS.

Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Established scientific reputation in the field of NMR Spectroscopy.
