The Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences (CDS), a novel academic unit that bridges the 17 schools and colleges at Boston University, invites applications for multiple tenure-track Assistant Professor and tenured Associate Professor positions. All candidates pursuing foundational or use-inspired research related to computing and data sciences will be considered (see our current faculty
here ). Candidates working in one or more of the following broad areas of research are especially encouraged to apply.
Research focused on core machine learning and theory and methods, including but not limited to deep learning, generative AI, natural language processing, and large language models. Research in computational systems and software infrastructures for data science, including but not limited to cloud-scale data engineering and systems for at-scale machine learning & AI. Research with ties to the social sciences and humanities, including but not limited to human-centered computing & HCI, economics & computation, sociology, behavioral science, and law & ethics. Research with ties to the natural sciences, including but not limited to applications in astronomy, biological & medical sciences, chemistry, neuroscience, physics, and earth & environment.
