Currently working with a leading/established financial services firm that specializes in working with high-net-worth individuals and is seeking an experienced Tax Managing Director to lead their Tax function. This individual will report directly into the CEO, have 5 to 10 direct reports, and oversee the firmwide tax function. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of complex tax issues, a strong understanding of local/state/national/individual tax, a proven track record of managing client relationships, a track record of managing/building teams, and the ability to provide strategic tax planning.Key Responsibilities:Lead, build, and manage the tax functionDevelop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and strategic tax advice.Oversee the preparation and review of complex individual, trust, and estate tax returns.Stay current with tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for tax savings.Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive financial planning services.Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.Represent the firm at industry events and conferences, enhancing the firm's reputation and expanding its network.Qualifications:Active CPA LicenseMinimum of 15 years of experience in public accounting, tax practice, or a related firm, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals.5+ years of direct managementBachelor's and/or Master's in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or equivalent spaceStrong technical knowledge of individual, trust, and estate tax laws.Excellent client management and relationship-building skills.Proven leadership and team management abilities.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
