This role will serve as a critical member of the finance group to help drive cross-functional strategic initiatives in addition to serving as a senior member of the Investor Relations team. The ideal candidate will possess broad experience in finance, to help coordinate complex financial projects and perform bespoke financial analysis, in conjunction with our Strategic Finance & Analytics, revenue/pricing, project finance/capital markets, tax, and accounting teams. In addition to helping coordinate financial review projects and advance strategic finance initiatives, the role will serve as a critical and senior member of the Investor Relations team, helping communicate Sunrun’s tremendous growth opportunity along with our financial and operating performance to investors. This role will be responsible for both internal workflows including material production and will also be involved in external engagements with Sunrun’s investors and covering research analysts in a supporting capacity to the head of Investor Relations.The ideal candidate has an immaculate attention to detail, strong written communication skills, and experience in capital markets (especially structured finance) and in corporate investor relations for public equity.
This cross-functional role requires multidisciplinary skills, strong project management experience and extreme attention to detail.
This role sits in our Finance organization and will report to our Deputy CFO and Investor Relations Officer. San Francisco, CA and Lehi, Utah are preferred locations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform ad hoc strategic financial analysis, as directed by the Deputy CFO, CFO and VP of Strategic Finance & Analytics.
Maintain a robust and efficient review process for product and pricing proposals, facilitating comprehensive analysis and reviews to advance Sunrun’s operating and financial performance. Project-manage various cross-functional finance projects as needed for the finance organization.
Assist in building and maintaining investor presentations, financial models, industry trackers and other resources used by our public equity investors and our senior management.
Assist in drafting various communications for investor materials, such as Sunrun’s earnings release, earnings call remarks, investor presentations and shareholder letters. This may include initial drafts and deep copy-editing.
Collaborate with Sunrun’s policy, accounting, FP&A, operations, project finance, asset management, communications/media, and legal teams to maintain internal reference materials, such as talking points and industry data for executives.
Assist with investor & research analyst requests, as directed by the Investor Relations Officer.
Prepare briefing documents on investors ahead of engagements for the Investor Relations Officer and other management attendees.
REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SKILLS)7 to 15 years work experience in investor relations or other capital market ecosystem (equity research, investment banking, investment advisor).
Excellent written & verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on high-impact persuasive and technical writing, with impeccable grammar and copy-editing skills.
Experience with complex project management.
Collaborative team player.
Bachelor’s degree with top grades, MBA preferred and advanced certifications (CFA, CPA) a plus.
Proficiency desired with a broad range of financial topics (GAAP reporting and financial statements, discounted cash flow models, equity valuation techniques, etc).
Extremely high attention to detail.
Comfort with fast-paced, demanding environment.
Impeccable judgment & ethics.
Deep experience with Google Suite products (Google Slides, Sheets, Docs) and proficiency with PowerPoint and complex Excel spreadsheets (VLookups, data tables, pivot tables, charts, etc).
