This is a wonderful opportunity to work on a high-powered team delivering an industry-changing product within an extremely high growth sector of the tech industry. Feature-rich software stack combined with ONTAP - The storage operating system of NetApp with its rich data management capabilities has tremendous value to our customers and is used in mission-critical applications across the world. Focus will be on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development. This role is within the Research and Development function whose overall focus is on technology advances, competitive market and customer workload requirements, product cost and time-to-market, and product quality. This position requires an individual to be broad-thinking and systems-focused, creative, team-oriented, technologically savvy, able to lead large cross-functional teams, and driven to produce results.Responsibilities
As the manager of the team you will:Lead a team of high-performing software development and test engineers using a DevOps modelContribute expertise to software architecture and design of distributed system featuresFacilitate product design, implementation, and support, including getting hands-on as neededProvide coaching and career development for members of your teamResponsible for ensuring the timely and high-quality release of modules in ONTAPWork closely with product management and customers to build the best productTake responsibility for results including costs, methods, and staffingJob Requirements
Experience in managing software development projects with C/C++ in LINUX/UNIX environmentExperience in hands-on systems design and systems software developmentExperience with the systems engineering domain requiring concepts such as computer architecture, operating systems, file systems, networking, algorithms & data structureStrong oral and written communication skills are essential, with a clear understanding of the product development cycle and project managementAbility to understand and apply new technologiesExperience with RAID and/or storage technologies like NVMe, SAS, and FC is a plusEducation
Bachelor's degree in CS, CE or a related field required with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, of which at least 2 years of experience as a people manager is required.Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $175,000 - $240,000 and will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSUs), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
